This is My Life

Elder S. F. Moore led a very interesting and mobile life, ministering to the people of God from Florida to California. He was present for the constitution of the church near Fremont, CA, known as Golden Gate Primitive Baptist Church, and he was responsible for its name.

Elder Moore lived in a transitional time in terms of transportation and technology. He knew what it was to travel by foot, mule, horse, rail, and bus to reach his preaching appointments. He faced hardships that few today can barely understand, yet was faithful and obedient to his calling, and Jesus who called him.

This small book is filled with interesting moments from his journeys and include sketches Elder Moore made. The reader will also find poetry written by Elder Moore.

In this edition we have included a post card from his niece, Sister Myrtle Martin to a Sister Tyler. In this note we see that this book was almost never published, but thankfully the financial needs were met, and the book has been preserved to our present generation. It is our goal at Worship the King to keep it in print in perpetuity.

Whether young, old, or in between, we believe this to be one of the most readable, and enjoyable books among the Old Baptist’s. Whether for use in homeschooling or general reading, we believe this book will help acquaint the reader with life at the turn of the 20th century, especially for ministers of the gospel.
